HSB Nepal was established by a group of experts engaged in various occupations including abroad study counseling, foreign language teaching, academia and research, entrepreneurship (tourism), film studies, and social and philanthropic activities in Nepal and Japan. It operates as a de facto overseas company of HSB Japan, a group of companies located in Tokyo, Japan. HSB Nepal aims to provide comprehensive services primarily in study abroad counseling, teaching foreign languages such as Japanese and English, and preparing Nepali students aspiring to study abroad for language proficiency tests. Additionally, it offers counseling about Nepal, Nepali culture, education, tourism, film, and society to foreign students and researchers intending to study in Nepal, enabling them to research and understand the country from a broader perspective. Moreover, it engages in collaborative research focusing on issues concerning Nepal and Japan for academic and professional purposes.

Chairperson
Born in Tanahun, Madhav Prasad Ghimire graduated from Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, specializing in Humanities and Social Sciences. He entered Kathmandu's travel industry post-graduation, founding his own company in 1994. Expanding to Japan, he managed operations successfully for over two decades, becoming a key tour operator in Tokyo for Japanese expatriates to Nepal. He also consulted for NHK (Japan) and Indigo (Korea) in Nepal.
Currently chairing Anandalaya Wellness Resort in Tanahun, Ghimire also leads the Ghansi Business Network, importing and distributing Japanese electronic products like air conditioners across Nepal. Additionally, he provides leadership, conducts board meetings, maintains balanced relations with the Japan office, formulates policies and strategies at HSB Nepal and represents it on various platforms. His primary focus remains on promoting local employment, ensuring financial sustainability, and advocating for environmental conservation. Moreover, he is committed to improving rural living conditions and enhancing education for underprivileged children. Notably, he spearheaded the construction of eight schools through Ghansi Ideal Society Nepal following the devastating 2015 earthquake.
Highly experienced in managing and operating business organizations, his dedication and sincerity in work will greatly benefit HSB Nepal in achieving its goals. Furthermore, his proficiency in English, Japanese, and Hindi, coupled with strong national-level public relations skills and extensive travel experience in over 40 countries, make him a valuable asset for HSB in connecting and communicating with organizations and individuals abroad for various purposes.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Bishnu Bhatta, from the scenic hills of Bandipur Tanahun, known as the 'Queen of the Hills' for its breathtaking Himalayan views, holds a Master's Degree in English Studies with merit from Pokhara University. His career spans counseling in foreign education, particularly focused on Japan, over two decades of experience, and fifteen years of research with Japanese scholars. Additionally, he taught English for a decade at various institutions, including a Pokhara University affiliate. His dedication culminated in his appointment as Chief Executive Officer at HSB Nepal.
Simultaneously, Bishnu is engaged in research under Japanese professors, serves as the General Secretary of Ghansi Ideal Society for social work, and consults for organizations in education and awareness. He counsels prospective students seeking higher education in Japan, Australia, and Canada, as well as researchers and volunteers interested in studying and researching Nepal. His proficiency in English, Japanese, and Hindi, combined with strong computer skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and adept leadership and teamwork, reinforce his position
His primary responsibilities include formulating organizational policies and strategic decisions, guiding the company's workforce and resources towards achieving strategic objectives and overall growth, and overseeing executive tasks. Additionally, he leads the counseling and documentation department.
Managing Director
Born at the foothill of Ligligkot in Gorkha, the historic birthplace of the Royal Shah Dynasty, Roshan Bikram Thakuri grew up in Kathmandu and has become a notable figure in Nepal's film industry. Over the past two decades, he has excelled as a director, writer, producer, juror, film consultant, consultant to prominent actor Rajesh Hamal. His short film "Silver Bangles" received national and international acclaim, featured at renowned festivals like the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. Currently, Roshan Bikram Thakuri is involved in multiple upcoming projects and continues to receive accolades for his TV shows in Nepal.
Apart from his film career, he serves as Managing Director at HSB Nepal, overseeing goal setting, strategic planning, policy implementation, stakeholder relations, student counseling, and film research. He also holds the position of vice-chair at Ghansi Ideal Society Nepal, where he spearheaded the construction of eight schools following the 2015 earthquake, focusing on enhancing health, hygiene, and nutrition in rural areas.
Fluent in both written and spoken English, French, and Hindi, Roshan Bikram Thakuri possesses a wide network of public relations nationally and internationally, complemented by his travel experiences in more than 20 countries. HSB Nepal extensively has utilized his skills and expertise to establish itself as a reliable organization for anyone aspiring to study abroad or learn more about Nepal.
Chief Coordinator
Born in Tokyo and now based in Niigata, Japan, Kaori Watanabe has amassed extensive professional experience across diverse roles. Starting as a consultant for a leading travel and tour company, she engaged with diverse individuals and organizations globally. Her travels across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania enriched her with valuable insights into cross-cultural dynamics and business practices.
Building upon her consultancy experience, Kaori transitioned to a managerial role at SNS Operation, a company specializing in social networking in Japan. This position further honed her skills in organizational management and client relations, equipping her with a heightened level of professionalism and proficiency.
Kaori Watanabe, with a deep commitment to working with Nepali, serves as Chief Coordinator at HSB Japan. She manages relations between HSB Nepal and Japanese education providers, oversees virtual Japanese language classes, and supports learners at HSB Nepal. Kaori's role includes visiting HSB Nepal as a Japanese language and culture instructor, guiding prospective students through applications and cultural adaptation. She also assists students in Japan with part-time job opportunities, enhancing their integration into Japanese society and fostering educational exchanges between Nepal and Japan.
Director/Counselor
With over a decade of experience in Japan study counseling and business management, Rajkumari Tamang has played a pivotal role at our organization since its inception as Director cum Counselor. Her responsibilities encompass daily administrative tasks, bridging communication between executive leadership and junior staff. As Director, she meticulously records and reports staff performance to the board, ensuring transparency and efficiency in operations. Rajkumari also provides authentic counseling and unwavering support to prospective students applying to Japan, leveraging her expertise to guide them through the complexities of the application process with confidence and clarity.

Head, Japanese Language Teaching/Counselor
Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, he lived in Japan for over fifteen years, studying and immersing himself in the culture. Upon returning in 2023, he started teaching Japanese and became head of Japanese language teaching at HSB Nepal from the outset. His extensive stay in Japan enriched his understanding of student and professional life, along with deep insights into Japanese culture, society, customs, norms, and values. He is committed to strengthening grassroots relations between Nepal and Japan.
He enriches his classes with authentic teaching materials and resources imported from Japan, and often incorporates videos of cultural activities. Furthermore, he guides students and their parents and guardians through the process of choosing and applying to educational institutions abroad primarily Japan and facilitates a smooth and successful transition into international education authentically.
Senior Japanese Language Teacher, Interpreter and Translator /Counselor
Rupa Adhikari brings over 5 years of teaching experience in Nepal following 13 years in Japan as a university student and businessperson. At HSB Nepal, she serves as a senior Japanese language teacher, interpreter, and translator. Her expertise includes comprehensive knowledge of Japanese language and culture, enhancing her teaching with cultural insights gained from her extensive experience.
In addition, she guides prospective students and families seeking educational opportunities in Japan and abroad, offering comprehensive advice, meticulous planning, and assistance with application documentation. Her role ensures students and guardians are well-prepared for a seamless transition to their desired international educational institutions.
